Description

SIS data is periodically dumped from the local Student Information System (SI-UFP) to a database (GEPUV). At 5am, data is copied to another database (SISUV) and differences are computed (students entering/leaving courses, instructors teaching additional sections, etc).

A in-house Sakai API (ufpuv-sis) is available to Sakai tools, acting as an interface to this data. A common tool built on top of this API is (My Workspace > UFPUV) which allows Instructors and Employees to create course/project sites based on the information provided by the SI-UFP.

Instructors can create course sites by selecting sections they teach. It is also possible to select sections teached in common with other Instructors or even sections teached entirely by other Instructors - in these cases, a request information is required from the other instructors.

Administrator can also create special plan sites, coupled with SIS plans. These will have all students from the selected plans and also synchronized on a daily basis, at night.

Course/Plan site membership is periodically updated, adding/removing students as necessary.
